I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice remains one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making massive paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually happening.
